NOKIA 9000 INTERNET CONFIGURATION

CONFIGURATION

To start the Internet application on your Communicator press the Internet button, you should see a screen that looks like this :


Step 1 - Configuring the WWW

Highlight WWW and press settings

Internet Change
- Modem initialization Fixed 9600 b/s
- Data call barring
- Internet access Close

NOTE : Modem initialization should be fixed 9600 b/s.

Highlight internet access and press change

Internet access ponts Edit
(Unnamed) New
Close

Press Edit

Define Internet Access Point
Provider Name : ................................
Phone Number : ................................
User Name : ......................................
Prompt Password : ............................
Password : ........................................
Advance Setting : .............................. Close
  • Enter your provider name e.g.CS LoxInfo
  • Phone Number : 02 6855000
  • User Name : (Your CS LoxInfo Internet Service account, e.g. john@csloxinfo.com)
  • Prompt Password : Change to yes if set to no (for security reasons).
  • Press close, 4 times to get back to the Internet 1st screen
  • Your WWW has been configured
  • Step 2 - Configuring the Mail

    Internet Select
    - Mail  
    - WWW
    - Telnet
    - Terminal Settings
  • Highlight mail and press select.
  • You should see a screen that looks like this:
  • Mail
    - Own text Open
    - Recievied mail Write Mail
    - Remote Mailbox Setting
    - Doucument Outbox Close
    • Press Setting
    Settings Change
    Internet Access : CSOXINFO
    Show header field : basic
    Include text in reply : yes
    Send mail immediately : yes
    Mime encoding : On
    Remote Mail box : POP3
    Remote Mail box setting : Close

    Higlight Remote Mailbox setting and press change

    Remote Mailbox Settings
    - Remote mailbox user name : Open
    - Remote mailbox password : Write Mail
    - Own E-mail addres : Setting
    - Recieving host : Close
    - Deleted fetech :
  • Enter your CSLoxInfo Internet Service account.
  • Enter Internet password
  • Own email address : username @ csloxinfo.com
  • Receiving Host : hostname.csloxinfo.com
  • Sending Host : hostname.csloxinfo.com
  • Press close three times.
  • On Your Internet Screen

    Highlight WWW and press select. You will see a screen of Hot list. Highlight the e.g. Nokia home page and press fetch. You will be prompted for the password. Enter your password and press OK. The communicator will try to establish the network connection via eigsm (the interim net access name you chose). Upon successful connection you should see the web page of Nokia home page.

    To add the Emirates Internet home page to the Hot list, do the following.

    On the URL window in the Hot List screen enter.

    • www.csloxinfo.com and press fetch, press
    • Save add to the Hot List.
    • Or you could use the Define hot list item by choosing new.
    • Add the item name and the URL.

    To check your mail

    • Highlight mail press select
    • Highlight Remote mail box
    • Press connect.

      The communicator will try to establish the connection to the Remote Mail box with CSLOXINFO Internet.
